Modern slavery is a serious crime that violates human rights

A past BIOR campaign, kept as a record of what was put to government.
Modern slavery is a serious crime that violates human rights

The British Institute of Recruiters BIOR has launched a campaign about the risks of becoming the victim of modern slavery.

Forced labour is on the rise with Covid 19 causing uncertainty in the labour market.

We want to highlight the risk of this situation providing more opportunities for criminal groups recruiting people for forced labour.

The government can do more to inform work seekers on how to safely look for employment, how to avoid being taken advantage of, and who to contact if in need of help.

We call on the government to work more closely with recruiters and equip them with approved safety guides to share with work seekers.

The letter to your MP

Dear Mr {mp}{givenName} {familyName}{/mp} MP,

RE: Support the BIOR Campaign – risks of becoming a victim of modern slavery

I hope you and your family are safe and well.

I am writing as a constituent of yours as I support The British Institute of Recruiters (BIOR) campaign for government to work more closely with recruitment agencies to better inform work seekers about the risks of modern slavery.

I support the BIOR campaign to ensure recruiters pass on government approved guides to work seekers, informing them on how to safely look for employment, how to avoid being taken advantage of, and who to contact if in need of help.

I am concerned the government has not gone far enough to support the recruitment sector in making this information more readily available to work seekers.

Please can you use your role as my MP to call on the government to consider working more closely with recruiters and equipping them with approved safety guides to share with work seekers.

Yours sincerely,
