Across its North Tyneside, Leeds, and Manchester offices, the tech giant Accenture hopes to create hundreds of jobs. Accenture expects to hire 3,000 people in the UK over the next three years, half of whom will be based outside of London.
Offering clients in more than 120 countries a comprehensive program of solutions in strategy, advisory, digital, technology, and operations, the firm is now focusing on offices in the North. New roles are being created as client demands for platforms, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, data, and intelligent operations increase.
According to Simon Eaves, market unit lead for Accenture in the UK and Ireland: “The UK economy is rebounding swiftly following the pandemic and we are seeing strong demand from clients seeking to capitalise on this growth opportunity.
“We are committed to growing our footprint across the UK which is why I am particularly excited about our plans across Scotland and Northern England where we see some of the best technology talent in the country.”
The head of Accenture's North East operations, Allan King, says, "We’re proud that our Newcastle operations are set to play an important role within Accenture’s ambitious growth plans across the North. The role of technology has skyrocketed, especially since the pandemic, and we’re excited to see how the next few years will unfold.”
This recruitment drive follows Accenture's acquisition of six businesses earlier this year.
The company has added digital transformation and cloud consulting services Infinity Works, SAP partner Edenhouse, leadership and talent consultancy Cirrus, retail technology and supply chain consultancy REPL Group, management consultancy BCS Consulting and innovation strategy firm Founders Intelligence.
Vanessa Harding, co-lead at Accenture North West operations said: “We are planting deep roots here. We’re proud of Accenture’s long-standing presence in Manchester, and this announcement underlines our commitment to growing in this fantastic city. We firmly believe in utilising high skilled local talent - particularly within the technology sector - as a means of strengthening our business, and over the next three years we aim to double the size of our Manchester team.”
BIOR Director, Azmat Mohammed, comments, “We are elated to see the great amount of investment and opportunity in the North. This move by Accenture will certainly spur investment, particularly in Manchester.”
