After her manager called the potential recruit "not the slimmest", Director of TDM Recruitment slammed him for the "horrible" timing of having to deliver the news.
Faye Angletta introduced her candidate to a client for a new position in home sales. "Slimy" was the label that she gave her boss after he stated he feared for the showroom stairs. According to Faye, she could not allow bullying regarding appearance to affect her candidate. However, the recruiter claims the candidate then pressed for "honest feedback" and so she said she was obliged to reveal the harsh comments.
As a result of posting online to shame the boss, Faye was flooded with comments from other recruiters who referred to the bloke as "absolutely disgusting". Rosie Christie said: "I would love to see a picture of this guy. Would he be a suitable candidate for the cover of Men’s Health? It’s usually those that aren’t a 10/10 that would make these kinds of comments."
Caroline Fertnig added: "Just a shame it’s not possible to name and shame. There appears to be a shortage of good new homes sales staff and it would be shame for anyone to work for such a tool!"
Faye added: "I've been working in recruitment for seven years. It was unbelievable. That message came through on a text message. I absolutely couldn't believe he'd put it in writing. I'm looking for the best person for the job. Now across the whole of the UK, there is a shortage of talent and I mentioned to him that your reason for not taking this candidate is wrong.”
