You are a member of The British Institute of Recruiters. Two things now belong to you. Your verification page, published by BIOR from the live record, which a client or a candidate can open in a minute. And your credential with the BIOR lion, the letters MBIOR or FBIOR after your name, or for an agency the business credential and the agency's own page. The six steps below put both where people look. Have your membership number to hand; it is in your welcome email and on your dashboard, and your page is ior.org/verify/ followed by it.
Log in and open your dashboard. The panel called Your listing and your LinkedIn credential shows your verification page link, the one-click LinkedIn button and the live badge for your email signature. Open your page once and read it. It is what everyone who checks you sees.
On that panel press Add to LinkedIn. LinkedIn opens with the entry already filled in, The British Institute of Recruiters as the issuer with the BIOR lion, the name (your letters and grade, or for an agency the business credential), your membership number and your page as the credential link. Under Issue date choose the month you joined. Press Save.
Open the one-click on my dashboard
The button is personal to you, which is why it lives on your dashboard and not on this page.
If LinkedIn offers to share your new credential with your network, say yes. If it does not, post one line yourself, in your own words, and end it with your page address. That post is the one time your whole network sees the badge; after that it lives on your profile.
On your profile, click the pencil at the top right of your name card to edit your intro. In the Last name box add a space and your letters, so Smith becomes Smith MBIOR, or Smith FBIOR for a Fellow. Save. LinkedIn's own help page describes this as the way to show a credential in your name, and your name is read on every post, every comment, every search result and every connection request.
Running the agency's membership without letters of your own? Skip this step; the business credential and the agency's page do the work, and your recruiters each have their own letters.
On your profile press Add profile section, then Recommended, then Add featured, then the plus sign, then Add a link. Paste your page address and save. It becomes the one badge near the top of your profile that a visitor can click, and it opens the page that says your membership is real and current.
Back on your dashboard, the Your live badge panel gives you the badge image with its link, ready to paste into your email signature, and the code for your website's footer. The badge draws itself from your record each time it is shown, so it is proof, not a picture.
The assessment. About 40 minutes, from your dashboard, at your own pace; it saves as you go. It tests your recruitment process against UK employment and recruitment law and the BIOR Code. When you pass, your page reads Certified with the dates, your badge shows the Certified mark, and one click adds the Certified entry to LinkedIn. An agency takes the company assessment the same way. Start it from your dashboard.
Your library. Ten documents written for the consultant's desk, ready to use the same day; an agency holds the member library beside it, with the Agency Compliance Pack and the terms you send a client, and can ask for a document it does not have. Open the library.

A word from you reaches the recruiters who should have this faster than anything we publish. The words below are written for you. One click opens LinkedIn with them already in the post box, or in a message to one person you choose; change any word there before you press LinkedIn's button, and nothing goes anywhere until you do. Writing as the agency? Change "I am a member" to "Our agency is a member".
I am a member of The British Institute of Recruiters, the professional body for UK recruitment. Letters after my name, a public verification page a client or a candidate can open, the certification assessment, and a shelf of documents written for the consultant's desk.
