- An Agency Member posts the role, not the client, with the fee it is on, the split it offers and a deadline. It shows at once, and BIOR reads every posting within one working day.
- Another Agency Member with the right candidate presses "I have a candidate". The poster gets their details by email; nothing goes to the client.
- The two agencies agree the candidate, the fee and the split in writing on the BIOR Split-Fee Agreement, then the candidate is introduced.
- The client pays the posting agency; the posting agency pays the other its share. Questions on the rules go to Ask BIOR in writing.

What is a split fee in recruitment?
Two agencies share one placement fee. One has the client and the role; the other has the candidate. They agree the split before any introduction, the client pays the agency it contracted with, and that agency pays the other its share. Nothing changes for the client.
Who can post and respond?
Only recruitment agencies that hold a current BIOR Agency Membership. Every posting shows the agency's name and whether it is BIOR Certified or a BIOR Member. Individual members and visitors see this preview only.
Does BIOR take a cut or invoice anyone?
No. BIOR is not a party to the arrangement, takes no commission and holds no money. The two agencies contract with each other on the BIOR Split-Fee Agreement, a template in the member resources.
How are postings checked?
A posting shows at once unless it appears to name a client or carry contact details, in which case it is held until it has been read. BIOR reads every posting within one working day and removes any that names a client, a site or a client contact, or that has no fee, split or deadline. Postings close on their deadline.
