In brief. Clients and candidates check your LinkedIn profile before they reply. A BIOR credential in your Licenses and certifications section, with our logo, tells them you work to a published standard and are kept current on the law. It takes two minutes to add and it stays there all year.
Why it is worth two minutes
Three reasons. Buyers look before they reply, and a professional credential is one of the few things on a profile that is not self-description. The entry carries our logo and links to BIOR, so anyone who wonders what it means can check in one click. And LinkedIn tells your network the day you add it, which is free reach for you and for the standard you have chosen to work to.
One click
Click the credential you hold. LinkedIn opens with The British Institute of Recruiters already entered as the issuer. Add your start date and your membership or certificate number, then Save. When LinkedIn offers to share it with your network, say yes.
- Certified Recruitment Business (Agency Membership and Company Certification)
- Member of The British Institute of Recruiters (MBIOR)

Your regulated qualification
If you hold one of the Ofqual-regulated qualifications awarded by Summit Qualifications UK, BIOR's awarding organisation, add it as a second entry. The issuer is Summit Qualifications UK, the credential ID is your certificate number, and the credential URL is the public certificate check at qualifications.ior.org/certificates/verify.
- Level 2 Certificate in Recruitment Resourcing (Cert RRec)
- Level 2 NVQ in Recruitment Resourcing
- Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Recruitment (Cert PRec)

By hand, in six steps
- Open your LinkedIn profile and click "Add profile section".
- Under "Recommended", choose "Add licenses and certifications".
- Name: the credential you hold, for example "Certified Recruitment Business (BIOR)".
- Issuing organisation: start typing "The British Institute of Recruiters" (or "Summit Qualifications UK" for a qualification) and pick it from the list, so the logo appears.
- Issue date, then your membership or certificate number as the credential ID, and the BIOR page for your credential (or qualifications.ior.org/certificates/verify) as the credential URL.
- Save, and share it with your network when LinkedIn asks.
Company pages too
If you run an agency, the same credential belongs on your company's LinkedIn page in the About section, and on your website and email signatures. Message us on the website for the logo files and the wording to use.
Not yet a member? Agency Membership and Certification is explained at ior.org/agency-membership. Message us on the website and we will tell you plainly whether it makes sense for your business.
