BIOR members and certified members

Check before you choose. Every recruitment business and recruiter on this page holds a current credential with The British Institute of Recruiters. Certified entries carry the certified mark and the date they were last certified.

In brief. Click a name to open its verification page, which shows the credential, the date it was issued and the date it runs to. If a recruiter tells you they are a BIOR member or certified and they are not here, ask for their membership number and check it at ior.org/verify.

What the two labels mean

Certified means the business or recruiter has committed to the BIOR Code of Professional and Ethical Conduct and has been assessed against it; the date shown is the date they were last certified, and each verification page gives the date by which certification must be renewed. Member means the business or recruiter holds a current membership, has committed to the same Code and receives BIOR's weekly briefings on the employment law that governs recruitment, including the Fair Work Agency's enforcement of minimum wage, holiday pay and agency worker rules. If either lapses, the entry comes off this page and the verification page says so.

For employers

Choosing a certified or member business is the simplest check you can make before you sign terms. From 30 October 2026 you share responsibility for the treatment of agency workers on your sites, so who you work with matters more than it did.

For candidates

A listed business or recruiter has agreed to a published code that covers how you are treated, what you are told and how you are paid. If something goes wrong, there is a complaints procedure you can use.

For recruiters

If you or your business should be here and are not, Agency Membership and Certification is explained at ior.org/agency-membership and Personal Certification at ior.org/personal-certification. Members control their own entry from their dashboard: what is shown, and whether it is shown at all. Only name, credential, region, specialism or sectors and (for businesses) website are ever public.
